Reunion With Death

• Inspector Jacques Clouseau is the hero and has to hunt down an ex-nazi in 1961.

• Rudolf Adler is the main bad guy. He has a group called the “Lords of Death.” Adler orchestrated the Rue Sainte-Catherine Roundup of Jewish civilians in February 1943.

• Clouseau was born in 1931 and was a child in Lyon, France during WW2 and witnessed the Gestapo under Adler commit multiple mass murders and atrocities.

Jacques Clouseau:

• Born March 15^th, 1931 in Lyon France to a family of police officers.
• From 1942 when Rudolf Adler arrived in Lyon to head the Gestapo, to September 1944 when the city was liberated by the Allies, Clouseau witnessed many atrocities and murders committed by the Gestapo. He witnessed Rue Sainte-Catherine Roundup of Jewish civilians and hanging of 10 French Resistance fighters.
• Was a relative of Jean Moulin who was one of the leaders of the French Resistance and was killed in 1943 in Lyon by the Gestapo.
• Went to University of Lyon and graduated with a degree in criminology. Joined the National Police (Sûreté Nationale) upon graduation in 1953.
• Promoted to Inspector in 1961 and given the task of finding and capturing Rudolf Adler.

Rudolf Adler:

• Escapes to East Berlin where he has been hired by the East German government to advise the Stasi (East German Secret Police) on effective torture techniques.

At some point in the story, Clouseau has to capture Adler in East Berlin and transport him through the newly built Berlin wall.
